How can we create human settlements that have a healthy footprint on nature and provide hubs for the exchange of knowledge between people? And can we find a co-finance plan with small investments land purchases for no profit and purpose-oriented projects?
We like to place in the center of the village our curiosity and pleasure in exploring new territories! This land is an arbor for nomadic change-makers, partner communities, and organizations in service to establish new paradigms in the area of relating. By changing we mean reframing the narrative that shapes our life in relation to nature, other people, and ourselves.
The Nomadic Camp lies within 8 hectares of stunning grassland, cork oak forests and dry land. It suffers from topsoil and diversity loss. Every bit of land that gets the chance to regenerate, will eventually change back into a sustainable ecosystem. Nature needs her time to regenerate: 50 to 100 years. What can we do to speed up this process? What is the attitude that we need to embody? How do we relate to our self to make paradise possible again?
We are designing and manifesting water retention landscape. We are already testing for 4 years on the land different solutions for different purposes. We can plant water with trees or create water retention spaces for seasonal and long term ecosystem restorations. Besides the ecological solution, we see how water is life and has many undiscovered symbolic and energetical qualities that support the creation of community and life in general.
Syntropic farming, based on the teachings of Ernst Götsch and permaculture, are systems focus on building soil by producing organic matter through the practice of pruning, which continually increases resources while boosting root activity and encouraging a higher rate of photosynthesis and the combinations of other design. These results are abundant systems that produce healthy soils, profitable harvests, sequester carbon, regenerate the ecosystem, and do not require long term external inputs.
We want to build a huge tree-nursery to be able to plant thousands of pioneer trees each winter.
Our aim is to develop decentralized renewable energy systems for the whole Nomadic Camp that covers our daily needs. We are generating creative approaches to reduse, reuse and recycle resources, such as a self-sustaining kitchen running with biogas and solar energy, terra preta toilettes for the production of lasting and highly fertile soil and solar showers with constructive wetland for wastewater treatment. On long-term we want to provide self-sufficiency in food and electricity.
How to we design spaces that allow us to be close and respectful towards nature and instead of luxury offer us that quality we often can find in monasteries, temples, churches .... that quality that bridge the connection between the earth and the stars!
We are finally ready to provide a base camp for a limited number of nomads and partner projects, who are actively working within the field of transformative culture.
The Nomadic Camp is an opportunity to network with other explorers and leaders, to share knowledge, gifts, expertise and co-creation. The part-time home base provides nourishment and inspiration through connection to nature and the enjoyment of a simple, more holistic and slow-paced life.
Ultimately, we aspire to create a self-supporting space in every aspect!
As an agent of change, life may send you to various parts of the world to share and cross-pollinate your knowledge and experience. We see you as fundamental agents for global transformation.
Permalab wants to be a harbor for changemakers, offering a part-time home - a place to receive nourishment from nature and a slower pace, and to join an intimate community with a global network of change-makers. We see the nomadic camp as a bridge between worlds - where you have the opportunity to weave your expertise into a pioneering, experimental laboratory for new culture, and you can bring what you experience here back into the world.
we desire to create a meeting point for intentional communities to share knowledge and experience.
We provide a retreat space for community members that have the call to transform and question the current mainstream paradigm by offering concrete alternatives and pathways towards a new culture.
We wish to encourage a culture of leaders who approach work from a place of purpose and act in ways that are personally meaningful and socially beneficial. We wish to host teams and companies that are reasonable to the self and of consequence to the world beyond the self.
We provide a retreat space and a co-working space for your team integrated in nature.
